With the beauty of living on the Coast of South Carolina unfortunately comes the risk of hurricanes and tropical storms. Please use the tips below to prepare your pool and/or spa in the case of such inclement weather. Should we be required to evacuate it is best to assume that the storm will hit and prepare accordingly. As always, you can call us for further information. Our hurricane policy is to close our stores and service departments should a storm be imminent and we will reopen as soon as it is possible to do so safely.
Tips and Information for Swimming Pools
- First, prepare your family and pets for safety and secondly prepare your property!!!
- In the case of heavy winds remove any furniture, umbrellas, planters or anything else that could be blown by the wind into a safe place. Please DO NOT put your pool furniture in your pool! This could cause more damage than good
- Use a triple dose of Burnout 35 or Burnout Extreme in your pool and allow to circulate for at least 2 hours, if possible
- Turn the breakers off to your pool and equipment prior to the storm or an evacuation. This will prevent the motor from being damaged should the skimmer get clogged with debris
- After the storm has passed remove all large debris prior to turning your pool equipment back on! Backwash any excess water out of the pool and vacuum any remaining debris to waste. Test your pool water to ensure the proper chlorine and pH levels are achieved
- If your pool is damaged please contact our Service department and we will respond as quickly as possible
